Santorio Award for Excellence in Research
Call for applications
The scheme supports scholarly excellence in intellectual history and promotes the best Ph.D. theses in any aspect of the intellectual history of medicine and science with a focus on Europe, throughout the period 500-1800.
NATURE OF THE AWARD
The award consists of a cash prize (for the first position) plus a medal and a publication for the first two selected works with the series Palgrave Studies in Medieval and Early Modern Medicine (PSMEMM) - Springer.
1st Place: € 1.500 + medal + publication
2nd Place: medal + publication
ELIGIBILITY
The award is open to Ph.D. students and early career scholars of all nationalities within six years from their viva (not prior to 1st June 2014). An indicative list as to the fields of study that are eligible for a Santorio Award is provided here.
DEADLINE
Applications must be received before 8 November 2021 – 12 pm CET (Rome time)
