Tues 27 October, 4pm

MHCUK Roundtable Discussion

A discussion introducing the work of this year's Medical Humanities China-UK (MHCUK) Fellows, Dr Wankun Li, Dr Louise Creechan and Dr Fabiola Creed, and welcoming them to the CSHHH. Each fellow will give a short presentation on their current research project, which will be followed by a discussion.

''I am English': Loneliness and Melancholia in Elizabeth Taylor's Novels’

Dr Akshi Singh, Queen Mary, University of London (postdoctoral fellow working on British psychoanalytic theories of solitude and depression, as part of the Wellcome Trust project Pathologies of Solitude).

'The history of trauma and refugee mental health in the Global South’

Dr Yolana Pringle (University of Roehampton) and Dr Baher Ibrahim (University of Glasgow)



Tues 8 December, 4pm

A discussion with members of the Wellcome Trust's interdisciplinary Waiting Times project, which explores what it means to wait in and for healthcare.
