From 1914-1918, nurses offered care in the midst of war. They healed shattered bodies, but also performed the equally vital, yet less visible task of containing the shattered emotions of traumatised soldiers. However, much of the work done by nurses at this time has gone un-noticed. We invite you to join us for a day of discussion and creative exploration of nurses’ work in WW1. Alongside traditional lectures and presentations, there will also be the opportunity to explore this aspect of history through creative writing and drama.
