Call for papers

9-10 September 2025, University of Manchester


We are pleased to announce the 2025 ESHS Early Career Network Meeting that will take place at the Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine (CHSTM) of the University of Manchester (UK).

The Early Career Network invites proposals for individual papers from historians of science, technology and medicine, and from their colleagues in the wider scholarly community, on any theme, topic or period. The conference program will comprise an Early-Career (EC) workshop providing an opportunity for participants to engage in discussions on research approaches in a collaborative setting. A keynote lecture will be delivered by Professor Robert Fox (University of Oxford).

Proposals are welcomed from researchers of all nationalities and should include a title and an abstract of no more than 250 words, three keywords and a short bio.

For those interested in staying in Manchester, on September 11th, the ESHS will host the all-day workshop entitled ‘Connecting Europe through Science’. Attendance to the conference and the 11/09 workshop is free for registered participants (refreshments will be available).

We encourage all PhD students, early career and post-docs to send contributions and share this call with others who might be interested!
