This talk will explore the relationship between pleasure, sexual intercourse, and disease by examining a series of Braj-bhasha and Persian manuscripts on erotology and sexual diseases at the Wellcome Collection.

This talk examines the formal rhetoric of Arabic medical tables, exploring the significance of manuscript design and facture in relation to medieval debates about the nature of medicine.

This talk will explore medieval theories of embryology and the concept of the hybrid human/animal monster, focusing on the late-thirteenth-century medical text De secretis mulierum (On the Secrets of Women).
