Une histoire des émotions en nursing

Who Cares? A History of Emotions in Nursing
Virtual Event

RCN Library and Archive Service

Thursday 23 April, 5-6pm

Learn something new and share your ideas about nursing and its history in this virtual workshop on emotions in the history of health care by the Royal College of Nursing Library and Archive Service.

We'll explore how the emotions attached to nursing, and the assumptions underlying these feelings, have changed throughout history. During the last 150 years, nursing has been shaped by ideas about class, race and gender, as well as shifts in practice and politics. Hear about Florence Nightingale’s bible, Edith Cavell’s last letter, Cicely Saunders' diary and a new stained glass window designed by Rachel Mulligan.

From birth to death and everything in between, health is closely associated with a range of emotions. But who cares for the carers?

Please register to attend, and a link will be circulated in advance with instructions on how to join the meeting. All tickets must be booked individually.
