Emploi "Histoire des émotions"

The QMUL Centre for the History of the Emotions seeks to appoint a part-time (0.4) Research and Events Officer for an initial period of twenty four months starting on 1st August 2012.

The main focus of the job will be supporting the Director and Steering Committee of the Centre in organizing and publicising academic seminars, symposia and conferences for the years 2012-2014, as well as events, all on the themes of the Centre's Wellcome Trust funded project on 'Medicine, Emotions and Disease in History'. The officer will also assist in the preparation and submission of the Centre's funding applications

The post-holder will also serve as the first point of contact for enquires to the Centre, and for its postgraduate students and visiting scholars, and will be responsible for keeping the Centre's website up to date.

The successful applicant will hold a BA or equivalent level qualification in a science or humanities subject and should have experience of organising public events in the worlds or academia and/or the arts.

The post will start on 1st August 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary will be 0.4FTE of £24,726 - £26,043 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro-rata), defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
