Post-doctoral position as a Rudin Fellow in the History of Medicine

The NYU Langone Medical Center seeks to recruit a post-doctoral fellow in the history of medicine. The position will begin In July 2017, but starting date is negotiable.
Core qualifications for the positions include: a record of quality scholarship and teaching. Applicants must have a PhD, JD, or MD. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a strong scholarly career track in the history of medicine, law and medicine, or medical humanities.
The appointment will be for one year and may be renewed for a second year. It resides in the Division of Medical Humanities (http://www.med.nyu.edu/medicine/medhumanities/home), which is part of the Department of Medicine. The post-doc will report directly to the Director of the Division of Medical Humanities.
Successful applicants will have significant protected time to pursue research. They will be expected to teach one class at the graduate level per year, to participate in mentoring students in projects and research, and to assist in teaching undergraduate medical students and house staff. Stipend is $55-70,000. Health care and other benefits will be provided.
NYULMC encompasses the NYU School of Medicine, three hospitals (Tisch, Rusk, and the Hospital for Joint Diseases) and a number of affiliates including Bellevue and the Manhattan VA Medical Center.
