The role
With its vibrant and diverse research culture, The Centre for the History of Science, Technology and Medicine (CHSTM) is home to one of the UK's largest groups working in the field, and has a strong international presence.
As our new Chair, you will take a leading role in developing and mentoring the Centre’s group of active researchers, junior staff and graduate students, and contribute high-quality teaching and supervision at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. You will also develop significant grant projects based in the Centre.
The person
An exceptional scholar, you'll have a strong track-record and on-going engagement in innovative and influential research in the History of Science, Technology and Medicine (HSTM). This should include an outstanding track-record of published research and securing major grant funding.
We invite applicants from all HSTM-related sub-fields, methodologies and geographic specialisations, and would particularly welcome applicants who share our interest in approaching modern (post-1800) HSTM as an integrated field of study, with links to Science Communication.
